Mysore/Mysuru: Two music concerts will be held during this weekend at the residence of Sri Mysore Vasudevacharya in city. 

Dr. C.A. Sreedhar and his son Vid. C.S. Keshava Chandra will present a flute duet on Aug. 24 accompanied by Vid. G.S. Ramanujam on mridanga and Vid.V.S. Ramesh on morching.

Vid. M.S. Rajeevalochana and Vid. Ashrith Krishna Rao will present a violin duet on Aug. 25.  They will be supported by Vid. Praveen Hariharan on mridanga. Both the concerts, scheduled to start at 10.30 am,  are open to music lovers.

Profiles: Coming from a family of reputed musicians from Chilakunda, Dr. Sreedhar was a disciple of Sadguru Venkata Narayana Udupa Shastri and was also guided by his mother Vidu. C.S.Satyalakshmi Anantharamaiah. An  A-Grade artiste of AIR & Doordarshan, he has performed all over India and overseas. His flute playing is enriched with classicism, a combination of gayaki and tantric styles with refined aesthetic beauty. Lohavamshi, flute with a refined structure and the ‘171-Mela Raaga’system are his inventions. Dr. Sreedhar has served as a Professor at the University College of Fine Arts, and also as Principal of Maharaja’s College.

Vid. Keshava Chandra is a disciple of Dr. Sreedhar. Young Keshava Chandra has bagged many awards including the 1st prize in AIR National music competitions in 2018. Being a Mechanical Engineer, he is also a working professional.

Hailing from Madhugiri in Tumakur, Vid. M.S. Rajeevalochana is well-versed in both vocal and violin playing. He has presented many vocal and violin-solo concerts and accompanied many leading artistes on violin.

 Vid. Ashrith learnt violin under Vid. Rajeevalochana and Vid. H.K. Narasimha Murthy.He has performed in more than 50 concerts, both as an accompanist and as a lead artiste.

Hailing from Tarakkad village in Palakkad District, Kerala, Vid. Praveen, learnt mridanga and ghata under Vid. T.N. Shashikumar, Bengaluru and Vid. Madipakkam Murali, Chennai. He has given more than 1000 performances at various Sabhas and temples across India. He is also a graded artiste of AIR.
