Mysuru: Ganabharathi is hosting “Veena Gaana Navollasa” on Feb. 28 and Mar. 1 at Veene Seshanna Bhavan in Kuvempunagar, in memory of Vid. M.J. Sreenivasa Iyengar (MJS), the legendary Veena exponent. The veena concerts are sponsored by the family members and disciples of MJS.
Vidu. Mysore S. Rajalakshmi, a senior and renowned musician from city, will be presenting veena concert tomorrow accompanied by Vid. K.U. Jayachandra Rao on mridanga and Vid. Sharath Kaushik on ghata.
Vidu. Sujana Vadlamani from Chennai will be presenting a veena concert on Mar. 1 accompanied by Vid. G.S. Ramanujam on mridanga and Vid. S. Manjunath on ghata.
Both the concerts are scheduled to start at 6 pm and are open to all music lovers.

Vidu. Rajalakshmi, who entered the music field as a child prodigy, had her initial training under her father Vid. P. Shamanna. She had her advanced training under Vid. MJS and is now a torch bearer of the Mysore school of Veena playing.
Sujana, with an A-Grade accreditation from the All India Radio, comes from a family of renowned musicians — her grandfather was the renowned vocalist Parupalli Ramakrishnayya Pantulu, guru of Dr. M. Balamurali Krishna.
All the four percussionists are renowned artistes having accompanied frontline artistes in the field.
