Wg. Cdr. Ronnie Mitra (retd.) passes away in city

Mysuru:  Wing Commander Ronnie Mitra (retd.), who served in the Air Force as a Fighter Pilot  and now a resident of Kesare, near Pushpashrama, Mysuru, passed away here yesterday morning. He was 83.

He leaves behind his wife, two sons and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were held at Gandhinagar Catholic Cemetery yesterday evening.

Profile: Born on 29.8.1936, Wg. Cdr. Ronnie Mitra was assigned with the prestigious duties as a Flying Instructor at Pilot Training Establishment, Bambroli, during 1963 – 1966 among many assignments. He Commanded No. 4 (KAR) Air Sqn NCC, Mysuru and motivated many to join the Armed Forces from Mysuru Region. The late Air Warrior also served two tenures as Group Testing Officer at Air Force Selection Board (AFSB), Mysuru, during 80s.
