Why no action yet on pedestrian crossing signal lights?

May 2, 2024

Sir,

This has reference to my letter ‘Make all pedestrian crossing signal lights functional’ (SOM dated Mar.28). It’s more than a month now since the signal lights have been installed, but for reasons best known to the authorities concerned, they have not been switched on.

This is causing a lot of inconvenience to pedestrians in the locality who find it very difficult to cross the roads safely, in the absence of pedestrian crossing signal lights. The authorities seem least concerned about this issue.

I once again request the concerned to switch on all  the pedestrian crossing signal lights at the earliest before any untoward incident takes place at the busy junctions.
