Will MCC make a survey of dark areas in city?

March 24, 2018

Sir,

Crores of rupees have been spent for concretising some of the important roads in the city but the MCC authorities have failed to provide adequate lighting for the same. Nelson Mandela road is one such to cite.

The stretch between Highway Circle upto LIC Building is without any street light.  So is the case at Jodi Thenginamara Road upto Star of Mysore Cross.  Adjacent to this road, a graveyard is situated and it is important to have enough lighting on this stretch.  The failure on the part of MCC has become a boon to anti-social elements to take advantage of the situation like burglaries as reported recently, in addition to road accidents. It is appropriate on the part of MCC to make a survey of dark areas in the city and provide adequate lighting for the convenience of the road-users.
