Mysuru: The students of JSS Science and Technology University (S&T University), SJCE, won first place and a cash prize of Rs.75,000, in the BioQuiz 2019, India’s Largest State-Level Competition, held at Bangalore Palace recently.
The BioQuiz 2019 was organised by KBITS (Karnataka Biotechnology and Information Technology Services), Department of Information Technology, Bio-Technology and Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka.
It was an open event to the students from Karnataka currently pursuing their B.Sc, B.Sc (Agri), B. Pharma, B.Tech-Biotech, BTFS, BE-Biotechnology, BE-Biomedical Engineering and BE-Biomedical Signal Processing and Instrumentation courses.
The first round of the quiz was held at the regional level divided into six zones — Kalaburagi, Manipal, Mysuru, Shivamogga, Dharwad, Bangaluru regions.
The quiz for the Mysuru region was held at Pooja Bhagavat Memorial Mahajana Post-Graduation Centre on Nov.12.
Among all the teams that participated in Mysuru Zone, team JSS S&T U – SJCE consisting of P.K. Sayeeswar Anirutho and Aneesh Kalkur of 7th & 5th Semester (BE- Biotechnology), SJCE, respectively, won the first place and qualified for the State finals. The State finals was conducted on Nov.20 at Bangalore Palace, Bengaluru Tech Summit, Bengaluru.
The participants comprised of winners all the six zones. Team JSS S&T U-SJCE bagged the first place and a cash prize of Rs.75,000 in the final round.
