City’s 11-year-old tennis talent Mustafa M. Raja won his 24th AITA Title by clinching the AITA Super Series Nationals Tournament in Hyderabad recently. The tournament was played at Sania Mirza Tennis Academy from Aug.13 to 17.

Mustafa paired up with Tamil Nadu’s M. Kandhavel to clinch the coveted Doubles title. In the Quarter finals, they won with the score of 6,3 and 6,0.  They won the Semis with the score of 6,3 and 6,2.  In the finals, they pulled off a close match against the No.1 seeds of the Tournament winning the match 7,5; 5,7 and 10,4.  Mustafa and Kandavel were seeded second.

In the Singles event, Mustafa lost a close match in the quarter-finals against third seeded J. Hazarika from Assam 6,4 4,6 and 3,6.

Mustafa trains at Nagaraj Tennis Centre, SJCE College campus and does his fitness training at Synergy. He studies at Excel Public School.
