Winners of ‘Avagamah’ State-level Project

Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, ATME College of Engineering (ATMECE), Mysuru, had organised the State-level Technical Project Competition “Avagamah-2025” recently.

The event, conducted in association with The Institution of Engineers (India) and IEEE ATME Student Branch, saw participation of final and pre-final year students from across the State.

The competition was conducted in both on-campus and online formats, providing a platform for young innovators to present their projects focused on energy, sustainability, automation, healthcare and emerging technologies.

In the on-campus category, the first prize was won by JSS Science and Technological University (JSS STU), Mysuru, led by Sai Harsha for the project titled “Plug-In Series Hybrid Electric Vehicle.” The second prize went to S. Gourav and team from Maharaja Institute of Technology Thandavapura (MITT) for the project “Fire Extinguisher Drone.” The third prize was won by ATMECE, led by M.S. Sumanth Naika, for the project titled “Anaerobic Digestion of Canteen Waste for Biogas Production.”

Consolation prizes in the on-campus category were awarded to Mohammed Harmain and team of ATMECE for the project “Radiant Warmer and Sleep Apnea Monitoring for NICU” and Y.P. Akshitha and team from Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering Technology (VVIET), Mysuru, for their project “STHREE – Women Hygiene Hub.”

In the online category, the first prize was jointly secured  by  B.S. Chethan and team from Don Bosco Institute of Technology (DBIT), Bengaluru, for the project “IoT Based Solar Power Energy Meter” and A. Nandini from Ballari Institute of Technology and Management (BITM), Ballari, for “Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) Technology.”

The second prize was jointly shared by Preeti Binjawadagi and team from AITM, Belagavi, for the work on “Design and Development of a Pyramid Solar Still” and K.C. Tilak Pateel and team from Sri Sairam College of Engineering, Bengaluru, for developing a “Solar Mobile Charger.”

Consolation prizes in the online category were presented to R. Chandan and team from Sri Sairam College of Engineering for the project on “Renewable Energy-Based Home Automation,” H.N. Kavyashree and team from GMIT, Mandya for the project on “Deep Learning-Based Self-Examination of Breast Cancer” and G. Shivakumar and team from BITM, Ballari for the project “Real-Time Vehicle Headlight Intensity Control for Enhanced Road Safety.” Winners were felicitated with certificates and cash prizes for their efforts and creativity. Dr. M.N. Rekha, Assistant Professor, JSS STU and Dr. P. Vinod Kumar, Associate Professor, ATMECE, were the juries.

The event was coordinated by Dr. M. Praveen Kumar, Prof. L. Raghavendra and Prof. Shreeshayana.
