Winners of ‘Prema Kavi KSN Memorial State-level Poetry Contest’

Mysore/Mysuru: Six Horanadu Kannadigas and two specially abled persons are among those who have won prizes in the ‘Prema Kavi KSN Memorial State-level Poetry Contest’ organised by Gramantara Buddhijeevigala Balaga, K.R. Nagar, as part of its 36th anniversary and 106th birth anniversary of K.S. Narasimhaswamy  (KSN). They are:

Horanadu Kannadigas Category: Seema Kulkarni (Malaysia), Nagesh Mysuru (Singapur), U. Vijaya Shetty (Kasargod), Dr. Vaishali Nayak (Mumbai), K. Gururaj (Madhya Pradesh) and Shedigumme Vasudeva Bhat (Kasargod); Specially-abled Persons: Prabhavati Patil (Ballari) and B. Arun Kumar (Ballari).

Poetesses Category: Vijayalakshmi Satyamurthy (Bengaluru), Sudharani Naika (Uttara Kannada), Vasantha Surendranath (Ramanagara), Vaishali G. Beelura (Vijayapura), Maithri Bhat (Dakshina Kannada) and Srimati Joshi (Shivamogga).

Poets Category: Dr. Suresh Negalaguli (Dakshina Kannada), S.M. Harish (Shivamogga), Mallikarjuna H. Kadakola (Bagalkote), K.C. Nagarajappa (Haveri), Puneeth Handralu (Hassan) and Dr. Prasanna Heggade (Mysuru); Senior Citizens Category: S.R. Mirle (Mysuru).

Posthumous Award winners: Late M. Maruthi (Mysuru) and late Manjula Swami (Chitradurga).

Senior writer and Kannada Professor Dr. Satish Chandra and senior poet and journalist Doddanahundi Rajanna were the Judges for the contest. All the winners will  be awarded with ‘Prema Kavi KSN Memorial State-level Kavya Puraskara.’ 

Apart from the above, Basavaraju Bagewadi Math of Ranebennur has been selected for the ‘State-level Kavya Puraskara’ to be awarded in memory of late B.R. Ullas, son of Balaga President and journalist Dr. Berya Ramkumar and H.N. Savitha couple.

Awards will  be presented at ‘Prema Kavi KSN Memorial State-level Literary Festival’ to be held in the month of April.
