Mysuru: Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology, Bengaluru, sponsored a Two-Day National Science Day programme organised at Teresian College recently. The event featured Inter-School and Inter-College Quiz, Essay and Drawing Competitions. Prize winners were awarded cash prize. The winners are as follows:

Quiz Contest

School Section: 1st prize – Mohanish Sukadhare and Y.S. Poorvik Gowda from JSS Public School, Siddarthanagar; 2nd – P.D. Priyanka and Akshay Nadig from Ideal Jawa Rotary School; 3rd – Chirag Nehra and Ubedur Rehman from Bantwal Madhav Shenoy High School.

Degree Section: 1st – Janaki and Athire from Teresian College; 2nd – Syeeda Sakeena and Sharli Priya from Teresian College; 3rd – Rajalakshmi and Deena D’Souza from Teresian College; Consolation prizes – M. Naveen Kumar and D.S. Sagar from Sarada Vilas College.

Essay Writing Contest

School Section: 1st prize – Suchetha from JSS High School; 2nd – Stuthi Angel from Teresian College; 3rd – Ashith Shetty from Navkis Education.

Degree Section: 1st – Mamatha Shree from Teresian College; 2nd – Syeeda Sakeena from Teresian College.

Drawing Contest

School Section: 1st prize – S. Rithisha, Bantwal Madhav Shenoy High School; 2nd – Kashish Surana, Sri Mahaveer Jain Vidyalaya; 3rd – P. Sharanya, Bantwal Madhav Shenoy High School; Consolation prize – M. Kashri, JSS Public School, Siddarthanagar.

Degree Section: 1st – Bhoomika and Rakshitha from Yuvaraja’s College – 1st and 2nd prize.

Dr. Venkataramaiah, former Vice-Chancellor, Kuvempu University, Anantha Ramu, Convener, Karnataka Vijnana Parishat, Mysuru, Dr. Vinay B. Raghavendra, Convener of the Programme, Dr. R.A. Vasantha, Organising-Secretary, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Sr. Sajitha, Diector, Sr. Anjali, Local Manager and Dr. Veena M.D. Almeida, Principal of Teresian College, were present during the event.
