Winter seed festival

Sahaja Samrudha and Sahaja Seeds will be organising Winter Seed Festival (Maagi Mela) on Dec. 13 and 14 at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry in city .

Freshly harvested crops such as avarekai, togari kai, tender groundnut, purple yam, red-husked jowar and vine potatoes will be available for sale and display.

Sahaja Seeds will open a stall selling seeds of winter vegetables such as carrot, watermelon, muskmelon, beetroot, cauliflower, cabbage, lettuce, as well as desi varieties like Siddi Sanna, Navara and Jagalooru ragi.

Food stalls will offer a variety of avarekalu dishes. Many varieties of gourds will also be displayed. Farmers will showcase and sell Christmas decorative dolls made from gourds. Millets and organic products, value-added items, natural cosmetics, bamboo products, traditional toys and desi rice varieties will be available at the festival.
