Mysuru: Vidyaranyapuram Police have arrested a 28-year-old woman on charges of murdering her husband. While the accused is 28-year-old Vimala, the victim is Venugopal (43), residents of Gundurao Nagar in city.

Vimala tried to convince her relatives that her husband had died in sleep on Tuesday night, but the relatives doubted her as she was behaving in a suspicious manner and informed  the Police.

Vidyaranyapuram Police, who conducted mahazar, saw marks of a rope around the victim’s neck while shifting the body for the conduct of post-mortem and interrogated Vimala, who is said to have confessed of strangulating her husband with a rope as he used to come home and fight in a drunken state, according to the Police.
