Woman commits suicide

July 21, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: A woman has reportedly committed suicide at her husband’s house in Vinayakanagar here on Monday evening. Meanwhile, Chandregowda, the woman’s father, suspecting foul play, has lodged a complaint with Jayalakshmipuram Police.

The deceased is Pushpa (name changed), a native of Hallada Koppal, Bilikere hobli in Hunsur taluk. She was given in marriage to Chandra of Vinayakanagar a year ago.

As there are doubts about the age of the deceased girl (as the girl’s father states that she was 18 now and had got her married to Chandra, a year back), Tahsildar inquest is going on and information has been sought from the Children Welfare Committee.

Jayalakshmipuram Police Station Inspector Poonacha, who has registered a case, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary, where post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family members.
