Mysuru: Malathi (32), a resident of Gangothri Layout, 10th Cross, died after hanging herself at her residence yesterday at around 5.30 pm. However, she was rushed to Kamakshi Hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead.

The Police said that the deceased was suffering from joints pain which led to her taking to extreme steps. They also added that previously Malathi had attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills for the same reason. Malathi’s husband Venkatesh Kumar works as the security guard at EMMRC in Manasagangothri.

Saraswathipuram Police Inspector Nagegowda and Tahsildar visited the spot and conducted mahazar since the couple was married for 6 years. Later, the body was shifted to MMC&RI mortuary for the post-mortem.
