Mysore/Mysuru: A woman has committed suicide by consuming poison over alleged harassment by her husband and his family members. The incident took place on Tuesday night at Kamanakere Hundi village in the taluk and the deceased has been identified as Parvathi (35), wife of R. Mahadev of the village.

Meanwhile, deceased Parvathi’s family members, accusing Mahadev and his family members of harassment, which forced her to take the extreme step, have lodged a complaint in this regard with Mysuru South Rural Police.

South Rural Police, who visited the house, conducted mahazar, registered a case and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary, where post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family members.

Police said that Parvathi, in her death note, has stated “My husband and his family members are responsible for my death. Admit my children to an orphanage.”
