H.D. Kote: A woman allegedly killed her own son and has fled from the spot. The incident took place at Budanur village in the taluk on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased boy is Srinivas (3), while the accused mother is Bhavani, wife of Anand of Budanur village. It is learnt that on Sunday at about 3 pm, when Anand was not in the house, Bhavani, who made Srinivas sleep on the cot, struck Srinivas on his head and neck with a machete and fled from the house.

Neighbours, who heard screams from Anand’s house, rushed to the house only to find Srinivas lying in a pool of blood. They immediately informed the child’s relatives, who rushed to the house and immediately shifted the seriously injured Srinivas to a private hospital in Mysuru where the boy succumbed to severe injuries. H.D. Kote Police, who visited the house, conducted an inspection, registered a case and have launched a hunt to nab the accused woman.
