Woman killed as bus rams into bike

Mysuru: A woman, who was riding pillion on a bike, died of injuries at a private hospital after a KSRTC bus hit the bike she was riding pillion on Hunsur Road near Hinkal on Monday.

The deceased is Parvathamma (48), wife of D.P. Devegowda, a resident of Chinakurali in Pandavapura taluk.

She had come along with her husband to her daughter’s house in Hootagalli and the couple were proceeding on Hunsur Road on their bike (KA-11 EB-2920) on Monday morning to go back to their place, when a speeding KSRTC Bus (KA-31 F-1556) rammed into the bike from behind near Hotel Roost resulting in Parvathamma suffering serious injuries. 

Though she was rushed to a private hospital at Vontikoppal, she succumbed to injuries at the hospital at about 12.15 pm, according to V.V. Puram Traffic Police who have registered a case in this regard. 

The Police have seized the KSRTC bus and have taken the driver into custody.
