Mysore/Mysuru: A 38-year-old woman was killed on the spot, when a truck rammed into the scooter she was riding near Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS)  on Saturday morning.

The deceased woman has been identified as Sumathi, a resident of Sindaboganahalli in Pandavapura taluk and an employee of a garment factory.

On Saturday at about 6 am, Sumathi was proceeding towards Mysuru on her scooter, when a speeding truck rammed into the scooter from behind in front of KRS Police Station resulting in Sumathi sustaining severe head injuries and breathing her last on the spot, Police said. The Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary in city and have seized the truck.
