Woman killed in hit-and-run case

Mysuru: An elderly woman, who was crossing the road, was killed when an unidentified vehicle hit her on Saturday night at Kalyanagiri in city and sped away.

The deceased has been identified as P. Rani (70), a resident of KSCB Colony in Kalyanagiri and the Police are on a lookout for the killer vehicle.

On Saturday at about 7.15 pm, Rani was crossing Dr. Rajkumar Road when the speeding unidentified vehicle, which was proceeding from BSNL Junction side towards Triveni Circle, hit the elderly woman resulting in her sustaining serious injuries. The public rushed her to a private hospital and later shifted to K.R. Hospital, where the woman succumbed to injuries.

Witnesses said that the unidentified vehicle which hit the woman resembled an autorickshaw and the driver sped away soon after the accident. A case has been registered at Siddarthanagar Traffic Police Station.
