Woman killed, son injured as lorry hits bike

Mysore/Mysuru: A woman was killed on the spot, while her son suffered serious injuries when a sugarcane-laden lorry rammed into the bike they were riding on the Ring Road near J.P. Nagar on Monday afternoon.

While the deceased woman has been identified as Mahadevamma (45), her seriously injured son is 27-year-old Vijay Kumar, residents of Nagarthalli village in the taluk. Mahadevamma and Vijay were proceeding on the bike to Mellahalli village to attend the naming ceremony of their relative’s baby when the sugarcane-laden lorry, which came from behind rammed into the bike killing Mahadevamma on the spot and seriously injuring Vijay, who has been admitted to K.R. Hospital. It is learnt that Vijay’s marriage was scheduled to take place in the last week of this month. K.R. Traffic Police have registered a case.
