Mysuru: A 24-year-old woman, who had invested in online trading, has lost Rs. 5.80 lakh to online fraudsters.

The woman, who is working at a private company and residing in Lashkar Mohalla, invested a total of Rs. 5.80 lakh in phases after she was promised of high returns to her investment. She had come to know about online trading investment while viewing a YouTube channel and her number was added to 99 Wing Discussion Group on WhatsApp, where she was assured 50 percent profit for her investment.

Later, as per the instructions from the fraudsters, she downloaded a mobile app and initially invested Rs. 20,000 and later invested a total of Rs. 5.80 lakh in phases and had also withdrawn Rs. 60,000 profit once. But sensing something fishy, she tried to withdraw her investment and received a message that her invested amount would be deposited in her Bank account in 48 hours.

As she did not receive her invested money even after 48 hours, she lodged a complaint at city’s CEN Crime Police Station.
