Woman murdered over property dispute

October 6, 2018

Mysuru: A feud over ownership of property resulted in the murder of a 45-year-old woman at Kadakola in the taluk yesterday.

The victim has been identified as Kanchana (45), wife of Devu Rao of Kadakola. Devu Rao’s family had a running dispute with Bahulal, brother of Devu Rao, over a site in front of their house at Kadakola.

Kanchana went to the site on Friday morning when Bahulal asked her not to visit the site as it belonged to them. But Kanchana rebutting Bahulal’s claims on ownership of the site, entered into a verbal duel, when Bahulal along with his wife and sons beat her up with a stick and rod.

The seriously injured Kanchana was rushed to a city hospital, where she breathed her last some time later.

Within an hour of the incident, the South Police arrested the accused Bahulal, his wife Jamuna and sons Sunil and Sukesh.

All the accused were produced before a city Court, which remanded them to judicial custody.

The Mysuru South Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
