Woman robbed of chain

September 30, 2018

Mysuru: In the second chain-snatching incident this week, a woman was robbed of her 80 gram gold chain in Nazarbad Police Station limits last evening.

Sumathi, 35, wife of Manohar, a resident of Raghavendranagar, was on usual evening walk at a road close to Dr. Rajkumar Road near JSS Layout at about 6 pm, when two scooter-borne miscreants managed to yank off her 80 gram chain and fled from the spot in the white colour Honda Active Scooter they  had come.

Although Sumathi resisted the chain-snatchers and screamed for help, the people nearby reportedly did not come to her rescue as they thought it was a scuffle between   husband and wife.

The miscreants could have been caught had the nearby residents were alert, it is said.

The Nazarbad Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and registered a case.
