Woman sentenced for forging signature

Mysuru: A City Court has sentenced a woman to one year imprisonment besides imposing a Rs.20,000 penalty on her, for forging the signature of her sister in connection with records of a site. Bhagyalakshmi is the one who has been sentenced. Bhagyalakshmi was accused of forging the signature of her sister Padma and creating a fake affidavit for getting a site belonging to her father M.S. Ramaiah, transferred to her (Bhagyalakshmi) name in 2006.  

Her sister Padma had lodged a complaint with the K.R. Police, following which the Police submitted the charge-sheet against Bhagyalakshmi. The First Senior CJ and CJM Court Judge Yashwanth Kumar, who heard the case, held Bhagyalakshmi guilty of the charges and sentenced her to one year imprisonment. APP K.M.C. Shivashankarmurthy argued on behalf  of the State.
