‘Women can achieve success through hard work and determination’

Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru Central Jail Chief Superintendent K.C. Divyashri said that women can achieve success in any field through sheer hard work and determination.

She was speaking after inaugurating the International Women’s Day celebration organised by the city’s ODP (Organisation for Development of People) in association with Mahilodaya Mahila Okkoota, at St. Philomena’s College premises in Bannimantap here on Friday, with the theme ‘Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality.’

Maintaining that determination and dedication are key for achieving anything, Divyashri said that men dominated society too would stand in support of women in their efforts for achieving big.  Organisations play a vital role in the development and empowerment of women, she added.

Chayaa Nanjappa, Founder and Managing Partner of Nectar Fresh, explained how her industry grew step by step.

Maintaining that women can become good entrepreneurs by learning business and management skills, she said that her Industry was willing to become part of ODP’s activities in this regard.

Dr. Rashmi of the city’s Horticulture College, said that technology and value-added manufacturing has provided ample marketing opportunities for entrepreneurs. Pointing out that products manufactured out of horticultural produce such as banana, jackfruit and papaya have been a boon for financial empowerment of women, she said that the Horticulture College will extend all necessary help for manufacture of food items made out of horticultural produce.

Agriculture College faculty Dr. Nagamani delivered a talk on the role of women in using technology in agriculture, while Mysuru Diocese Administrator Dr. Bernard Moras spoke about the role of women in the society.

Mysuru Taluk Panchayat EO Girish spoke about the importance of voting,  while PSI Sheikh Feroze Khan created awareness on cyber crimes and measures to prevent them.

ODP Director Rev. Fr. Alex Prashanth Sequeira distributed financial aid to 37 cancer patients and gave away cash prizes to 20 ODP members for Best Home Garden.
