Mysuru: “Identifying and felicitating women achievers from various fields will inspire many other women to reach greater heights in their chosen profession,” said Suresh K. Vontigodi, Principal District and Sessions Court Judge, Mysuru.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Women’s Day celebration organised by women advocates of Mysuru at the Court premises here on Sunday.

Pointing out that in earlier times women confined themselves to their homes doing domestic chores and taking care of children, Judge Vontigodi said that women were also behind the success of many top men achievers.

Noting that Women’s Day originated in 1909 and is being celebrated every year, he stressed on the need for greater participation of women in all fields.

Zilla Panchayat (ZP) CEO K. Jyothi too spoke.

Suresh Vontigodi, Jyothi, Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath and Mysuru Bar Association President S. Anand Kumar were felicitated on the occasion.

Mysuru Bar Association Vice-President S.G. Shivannegowda, Secretary B. Shivanna and others were present.
