Alleged misuse of women federation money

Periyapatna: Alleging that Periyapatna Circle Inspector was not taking serious action against Dhan Foundation for misusing women federation’s money, hundreds of representatives of various Women Self-Help Groups, staged a protest in front of the office of the Circle Inspector in Periyapatna.

The Women Self-Help Groups representatives and members, alleging that Dhan Foundation had misused the money and staged a protest in front of Dhan Foundation office last month during which a meeting chaired  by Circle Inspector Pradeep was held. Following the assurance from the Circle Inspector, the protest was taken back.

The protestors said that the Circle Inspector, was calling the representatives for meeting since many days, but he used to remain absent. They alleged that the Circle Inspector had called them for a meeting yesterday, but again remained absent, thus showing his negligent attitude towards the issue.

Meanwhile, MYMUL Director Prasanna, who rushed to the spot, held discussions with Sub-Inspector Ganesh and the protestors urged the SI to initiate legal action against Dhan Foundation and close the Foundation office till the audit report arrives.

Representatives of Women Self-Help Groups Shobha, Latha, Sheela, Khathija, Pallavi, Jayamma, Shyamala, Sugherabanu, Sarojamma, Hema, Shivamma, Lakshmi, Sumithra, Girija, Parvathi, Noorjaan, Saritha, Lalitha and others were present.
