Women’s Day fete at Vasanth Mahal

March 18, 2025

Mysuru: Dr. H.M. Kalashree of Samata Adhyayana Kendra, Mysuru, has said that every woman should be educated and become self-reliant before entering into wedlock.

She was speaking during the International Women’s Day celebrations organised at Sri Radhakrishna Hall, Vasanth  Mahal, in city recently.

“If women become educated and self-reliant, she can face the challenges in marital life efficiently. In the present situation, it is inevitable for the husband and wife to understand each other and lead a life. No man has the courage to live without depending on a woman. There is a woman behind every man who has notable achievement in his life,” she said.

Women should face all the challenges in the society efficiently, instead of showing their weaker side by shedding tears, advised Dr. Kalashree.

Earlier women were treated as a lifeless creature, but even in such a situation, several women overcame challenges and achieved in their lives. The condition of women has changed now, with several of them achieving in various fields. In this wake, the Women’s Day celebration reflects the pride and respect of women, she observed.

Narrating the plight of the women nowadays, Dr. Kalashree said, “My grandmother had eight children, my mother four and myself has only one child. As the generation passed, the level of independence enjoyed by women has increased, thus coming out of restrictions.”

President of Samata Adhyayana Kendra Dr. Sabiha Bhoomigowda said, women should not depend on others to increase her strength. She should write her own history or else the womenfolk will fade into oblivion.
