Mysuru: In a major decision towards involving women in forward Policing, the State Government has issued orders to form exclusive Women’s Police Company in the State Reserve Police forces to contain various types of clashes and protests.
This follows the recommendation of DG and IGP, who had observed that, it is essential to involve women Police Officers and personnel to control the situation during various types of protests being staged under the leadership of women.
Following this, K.N. Vanaja, Under Secretary, Internal Administration Department (Police Expenses), has issued an order to form Women’s Police Companies.
Karnataka State Reserve Police units are a charging forces and it is very much essential to have Women Police Officers and personnel to control the situation during the protests and movements. The provisions should be made for 141 positions in each units, including one Special Reserve Police Inspector, four Special Reserve Police Sub-Inspectors, 12 Special Reserve Assistant Sub-Inspectors, 36 Special Reserve Head Constables, 76 Special Reserve Constables and 12 orderlies, according to the order.
