Workshop on evaluation for Hindi and Tamil Professors at CIIL

Mysuru:  “There  is a need to thoroughly revamp  our current educational set-ups  if we aim to provide quality education to learners in all areas,” said Prof. D.G. Rao, Director, Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL).

He was speaking after inaugurating the five-day (from Mar.26 to Mar. 30) training-cum-workshop on Testing and Evaluation and question Item Writing for the Assistant Professors and Research Scholars of Hindi and Tamil, organised by National Testing Service-India (NTS-I) at the CIIL here on Mar.26.

Providing quality education is subject to regular academic auditing and State-of-the-art testing and evaluation techniques, said Dr. Rao.

Prof. P. Perumalsamy, Professor-cum-Deputy Director, CIIL, briefed the participants about the activities of the CIIL and its various schemes.

Pankaj Dwivedi, Officer In-charge of NTS-I, said that  in order to achieve quality education, NTS-I is striving  hard in the areas of material production, manpower and methods development.

Prof. P. R. Dharmesh Fernandez, Professor-cum-Deputy  Director, CIIL and Head, Centre for Testing and Evaluation, asked the participants to make use of this opportunity and to pass on the learning to their students. He also proposed a vote of thanks.

Dr.  Biresh  Kumar, Resource  Person, NTS-I, CIIL,  welcomed. Dr. Sanjay Prasad Srivastava, Dr.V. Ilangovan, Dr. R. Shakunthala and other academic, administrative and technical staff of CIIL were present.

Sixty-six Assistant Professors and Research Scholars from various Universities and Government First Grade Colleges of Southern States of India who are engaged in teaching and research of Hindi and Tamil are participating in this workshop which concludes today.
