Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Economics, Basudev Somani College, Mysuru and Mysore University Economics Teachers’ Association (MUETA) have jointly organised a one-day State-level Workshop on State Education Policy 2024-25 at the College premises in Kuvempunagar on Feb. 4.

10 am: Prof. N.K. Lokanath, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore (UoM), will inaugurate. Dr. Navitha Thimmaiah, Professor and Chairperson, Department of Studies (DoS) in Economics and Co-operation, UoM, will deliver the keynote address.

Dr. D.S. Pratima, Joint Director, Regional Office, Department of Collegiate Education, Mysuru, Dr. M. Puttaswamy, Chairman and Managing Trustee, The Institute of Education Trust, Mysuru and Dr. M. Mahesha, Professor of Economics, DoS in Economics and Co-operation, UoM, will be the chief guests. Dr. M. Mahadevaswamy, Principal, Basudev Somani College, will preside. Dr. T. Ramesh, President, MUETA, will be present.

11.30 am to 12.30 pm: Technical Session-1 on ‘Redesigning UG Economics Syllabus (1st to 4th Semester).’ Dr. Navitha Thimmaiah, Professor and Chairperson, DoS in Economics and Co-operation, UoM, will be the Resource Person. Dr. P. Rashmi, Head, Department of Economics, Maharaja’s  College, will be the Chairperson. Dr. K. Divya, Department of Commerce and Management, Basudev Somani College, will be the Moderator.

12.30 pm to 1.30 pm: Technical Session-2 on ‘Redesigning UG Economics Syllabus (5th and 6th Semester).’ Dr. M. Mahesha, Professor of Economics, DoS in Economics & Co-operation, UoM, will be the Resource Person.

Dr. K.D. Muralidhara, Chairperson, Professor of Economics, Department of Economics, Government Arts College, Hassan, will be the Chairperson. Dr. L. Premakumari, Head, Dept. of Economics, Mahadeshwara GFGC, Kollegał, will be the Moderator.

2.15 pm: Valedictory Address by Prof. G.S. Premakumara, Professor of Economics, UoM. Kuber P. Gowda, Secretary and Managing Trustee, The Institute of Education Trust, will be the chief guest. Dr. T. Ramesh, President, MUETA, will preside. Dr. R. Nagabhushan, retired Professor of Economics & Special Officer, Manasa Educational Trust, Kollegal, Puttasetty, retd. Principal, Government Women’s College, Hunsur and Dr. C.R. Kiran Kumar, General Secretary, MUETA, will be present.
