Workshop on upholding AISHE data to portal begins

A day-long workshop on uploading AISHE (All India Survey on Higher Education) data to portal, organised by the Statistical Cell of University of Mysore in association with the Department of Higher Education, Government of Karnataka, for Nodal Officers of Higher Education Institutions, began at Maharaja’s College Centenary Hall here this morning,

Speaking after inaugurating the workshop, Dr. Bhagyavana S. Mudigoudra, Special Officer, E-Governance Convenor and State Nodal Officer – AISHE, RUSA said that AISHE data is a wealth of extensive data in the higher education sector and provide the decision makers and stakeholders, an opportunity to make informal decisions and plans. Pointing out that Universities have played a major role in providing data and as well as in facilitating data uploading from colleges which are academically associated with them, Dr. Mudigoudra said that it had become imperative for higher education institutions to get linked to AISHE data portal.

Noting that Information is power in this era of innovations and discoveries, he said the portal will be of great help to educational institutions for knowing about the approving authority and for seeking any doubts or clarifications.

Emphasising that AISHE portal linking is a must for NAAC accreditation, he said that adding an Institute with the portal will be of much help to that institute for securing scholarship and research materials.

UOM Registrar Prof. R. Rajanna, Prof. Lingaraja Gandhi, Director, PMEB and Nodal Officer, RUSA, UOM, Dr. Veena Mathad, Nodal Officer, Statistical Cell, UOM  and others were present. More than 300 Nodal Officers of Higher Education Institutions from across the State took part in the workshop.
