Mysore/Mysuru: Kumar Performing Arts Centre (KPAC), Mysuru, has organised the 71st International Nirantara Kalemane Festival at its Kalemane Sabhaangana in Hebbal on Apr. 19 (Sunday) at 3 pm.
On this occasion, World Dance Day will be celebrated and simultaneously, the ‘Kalemane Kalashree Award’ ceremony will be held to honour four distinguished personalities who have made significant contributions in various dimensions to the field of dance.
Journalist Amshi Prasanna Kumar will be the chief guest. Kalemane Kalashree Award will be conferred on D. Ashwath Kadamba (Theatre Artiste, Mysuru), K.J. Narayana Kikkeri (Theatre Artiste, Mysuru), Nanjunda Rao (Art Critic, Bengaluru) and B. Omkar Murthy (Owner, Omkar Studio, Bengaluru).
Performances include Bharatanatyam by the disciples of Karnataka Kalashree Dr. K. Kumar, Mysuru; Bharatanatyam by the disciples of Kalaimamani Dr. Sangeetha Kabilan, Bengaluru; Bharatanatyam by Vidu. N. Sindhu and her disciples, Mysuru; Bharatanatyam by Vidu. Yashaswini, Bengaluru; Duet Bharatanatyam by Vidu. Meenal Girish and Vidu. T.N. Yogitamani, Tumakuru.
