World Health Day observed

Mysore/Mysuru: Marking World Health Day, Suyog Hospital had organised ‘Kalnadige Jatha’ today at 7.30 am. Corporator Nirmala Harish’s husband Harish flagged off the event.

Participants of ‘Kalnadige Jatha’ marched from Niveditha Park of Nivedithanagar through Sharadadevinagar to reach Suyog Hospital, Ramakrishnagar. 

Earlier, Suyog Hospital President Dr. S.P. Yoganna, who presided over the inaugural, addressed the gathering and said, “Every year, on April 7, World Health Day is observed all over the world to draw attention among the people towards the importance of global health. The theme of World Health Day 2021 is ‘Building a fairer, healthier world for everyone.’ The theme focuses to eliminate health inequities, bring people together and build a fairer, healthier world.”

Dr. Seema of Suyog Hospital, lawyer Timmegowda and over 30 participants took part in the event. 

World Health Day and World TB Day Observed

On the occasion of World Health Day and World TB Day, the District Administration, in association with Zilla Panchayat (ZP), District Health and Family Welfare Department, Nehru Yuva Kendra and Government PU College, Kesare, had organised a programme at the College premises this morning.

Speaking after inaugurating the event ‘Bharata-75 Sambhramacharane,’ District TB Control Officer Dr. Siraj Ahmad said, “Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched a campaign to eradicate Tuberculosis (TB) from India by 2025. As he stated, wearing masks, early diagnosis and treatment are also important in its prevention. We all must take necessary precautionary measures in this regard without fail.” 

Chief Medical Officer of Asha Kirana Hospital Dr. Swami, Department of Information and Public Relations Assistant Director R. Raju, Microbiologist K.N. Jyothi, lab technician Mahesh and H. Nagaraju of Kadakola Primary Health Centre (PHC) were felicitated on this occasion.

PU College Principal N.M. Vijayendra Kumar presided. District Family Welfare Officer Dr. P. Ravi was the chief guest.
