Mysuru: In a bid to spread the message ‘Save Tiger’, artist Anil Kumar Bhogashetty created a 3ft. tall 3D painting of a tiger, outside Mysuru Zoo on World Tiger Day yesterday which drew large crowds.

Anil had created a similar 3D painting in front of Bandipur National Park gate, which had caught the attention of tourists last year.

Anil, who is drawing 3D paintings since about 15 years, is also a wildlife conservationist who sends messages on wildlife conservation through his 3D arts.

He said that World Tiger Day is celebrated every year on July 29 to create awareness for tiger conservation and added that the goal of the day was to promote a global system for protecting tiger’s natural habitats and raise public awareness.  

He said that he created the 3D painting of a tiger to spread the message ‘Save Tiger-grow Forests’ to the younger generation and added that with rapid urbanisation, the population of tigers were decreasing day-by-day with the forests also shrinking.

DCF (Wildlife) V. Yedukundalu said that Karnataka stands in the number one place for having most number of tigers especially in Bandipur, Nagarahole and Biligiri Ranganatha Hills forests. Tigers are the most favourite animal for the tourists who visit these places, he said and added that everybody should care for the wildlife by protecting them.
