Irked over referee’s decision in a wrestling bout that took place at D. Devaraja Urs Multipurpose Stadium, Exhibition Grounds, some wrestling fans, who witnessed the bout, threw stones and water bottles into the arena yesterday.

Yesterday, there was a bout between Pailwan Sunil Padatare and Pailwan Kiran for Dasara Kanteerava title and both the wrestlers in a bid to win the title indulged in equal fight which ended in a draw. But, according to wrestling rules, the referee declared Pailwan Sunil as the winner resulting in Pailwan Kiran squatting in the arena expressing his unhappiness.

Irked over referee’s decision, some supporters of Pailwan Kiran threw stones, water bottles and whatever they could lay their hands on into the arena. Soon, Police personnel, who were on duty at the wrestling arena, evicted the spectators and defused the situation.
