As part of 102nd birth anniversary of former Chief Minister D. Devaraj Urs, District Administration, Zilla Panchayat and Backward  Class Welfare Department will jointly organise a wrestling tournament on Aug.27 at 2pm at Devaraj Urs Multi-Purpose Stadium near Dasara Exhibition Grounds here.

Addressing the press persons at the Pathrakartara Bhavan on Thursday MLA M.K. Somashekar said that the tournament would be inaugurated by District in-Charge Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa.

He added that about 30 pairs of wrestlers would be taking part in the tournament which includes a category for women wrestlers.

Continuing Somashekar said that the winners would be presented with cash prizes and citations. He also added that the best wrestler would be presented with a silver mace.

Karnataka Exhibition Authority Chairman B. Siddaraju, Backward Class Welfare Department District Officer Somashekar and others were present.
