Writer D. Lalitha Rao passes away

Mysuru:  D. Lalitha Rao, writer and a resident of Sankalp Central Park in Yadavagiri here, passed away yesterday at a private hospital in city. She was 60.

Daughter of former Chief of the Indian Army and former Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Nagaland, Manipur and Tripura K.V. Krishna Rao and K. Radha Rao, she leaves behind her husband architect D.S. Ramakrishna Rao, sons Vivek and Venkat, grandson Neerav and a host of relatives and friends.

Her brother KVL Narayan Rao, who was the Chief of NDTV, had predeceased her in November 2017.

An active member of Book Clubs and Editor of the Book Clubs-2015 bulletin ‘Book Leaf,’ Lalitha Rao used to occasionally write articles for SOM under  the column ‘Looking Back…’ The book titled ‘Bougainvillea Magic,’ a collection of her articles, was released in 2015.

Last rites were performed at the foot of Chamundi Hill this morning, according to family sources.
