xCads support Forest Fire relief work

February 28, 2019

Mysuru:  xCads, an initiative of ex-NCC Cadets, supported the Forest Department and volunteers who were dousing the forest fire since the past few days. The xCads supported the relief work by providing food, medicines, masks, ORS fluids, fruits, biscuits, bread and many other things that were required.

The officers and staff of the Forest Department were very co-operative in helping understand the on-ground situation and providing details of what was required.

xCads visited Bandipur and Maddur forest ranges on Feb. 25 with food for 200 people. Food was supported by Murali from FoodBox, Mysuru. Water, ORS fluids, fruits, biscuits were also provided. Biscuits were supplied by R. Ravindra, an xCad who works with Britannia.

On Feb.26, xCads went with more ORS, masks, fruits, biscuits, bread, jam, rusks, water and other essentials. Nathan and Arun from Bengaluru sent two drones to help the Forest Department in understanding and evaluating the forest fire    situation.

Many citizens supported the xCads by providing necessities.  H.R.Leelavathi, doyen of Sugama Sangeetha, donated Rs. 10,000 towards this cause.
