Mysore/Mysuru: Y.D. Mourya stood out at the Anveshane Camp (Bengaluru) hosted by the Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM) on Oct. 30 and 31. SVYM, a development organisation headquartered in Mysuru, is engaged in activities spanning Health, Education, Socio-Economic Empowerment, Training and Research.
Anveshane, meaning search in Kannada, is now in its second year, offering financial assistance for finalists to pursue PUC courses. Mourya, a standard X student at Jindal Public School, Bengaluru, excelled in hands-on sessions covering Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.
Mourya, aspiring to be an entrepreneur, mentioned that his family and friends have always supported him. To fulfil his entrepreneurial dream, he aims to join the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) to ease the financial burden on his parents.
H.Y. Moulya, Programme Manager of SVYM’s School Education Programme in Dharwad, praised Mourya’s subject expertise and hands-on skills.
Students were impressed by the Anveshane camp’s facilities and the availability of resource persons and experienced teachers. Some parents expressed the need for the camp to reach more students, particularly from rural areas.
Currently, Anveshane selects five finalists from a pool of 80 contestants from divisional camps across the State. Parents suggested increasing the number to ten and enhancing the camp’s publicity.
