Yachenahalli PDO trapped

Mysore/Mysuru: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Police have trapped Yachenahalli Gram Panchayat’s Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 20,000 from a farmer to sanction funds for an agricultural pond.

The PDO is Chandresh. He was caught red handed along with the bribe.

One Hemanth Kumar, son of Kempegowda of Yachenahalli village in T. Narasipur taluk had applied for sanction of funds for the construction of an agricultural pond in his farmland for which PDO Chandresh had sought Rs. 20,000 bribe to release funds.

Hemanth lodged a complaint at the Office of ACB Superintendent of Police (SP) in city. 

The ACB Police, who registered a case under Prevention of Corruption Act of 1988, laid a trap yesterday afternoon and nabbed the PDO red-handed when he was accepting the bribe.

ACB SP Rashmi and Dy.SP Parashuramappa supervised Inspector Kareem Rawther, Niranjan and staff in the operation.
