The three-day national-level techno-cultural festival ‘techNIEks-2017′ organised by National Institute of Engineering (NIE) and its Students’ Association commenced this morning at the Diamond Jubilee Indoor Sports Complex at NIE premises on Manandavadi Road here.

Students from about 40 engineering colleges in the State are participating in the event featuring innovative competitions like shadow play, visual beat-kill and speed painting that demands creativity and precision of participants. The last day of the event would feature a fashion show.

Inaugurating the programme, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar observed that the city was rich in heritage. He asked students to develop a creative mind with positive energy to come out successful in career. Nevertheless he advised students to abide by values of life.

On the occasion, Yaduveer was felicitated by NIE Management.

NIE In-Charge Principal Dr. R. Gopalakrishna Urs, NIE Secretary G.S. Ravichandra, Student Council General Secretaries K.P. Dhanya and Shawna Raj, Co-ordinator N.A. Bramhajna, Student Welfare Officer Vanamala and others were present.
