Mysore/Mysuru: Seshadripuram Degree College had recently organised a debate on the topic “Archaeo Dialectics – An odyssey to unravel monuments buried in sands of time” at its premises in city. The main objective of the session was to educate the students about the history and heritage of the bygone era.

The titular head of Mysore royal family Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, who was the chief guest, spoke at length about the state of neglect of ancient monuments, many of which were on the brink of dilapidation.

Later in the interaction, he patiently answered to the questions posed by the students, where he put forth the idea of using science and technology in the realm of archaeology.

Batting for collaboration with foreign institutes that would have a sonorous impact, he asserted that monuments are indeed assets of our nation as they shed light on the society and culture of antiquity.
