Mysore/Mysuru: ‘Yajurveda’ upakarma was held at various places in city yesterday.
Hebbar Sri Vaishnava Sabha had organised the programme at Sri Rama Mandira, Krishnamurthypuram, where the Brahmins changed the sacred thread, chanted Gayatri Mantra and participated in other rituals. On behalf of Mysore District Brahmin Yuva Vedike, the books on Sandhyavandana and Bhagavad Gita were distributed free of cost.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Tirumalachar of Hebbar Sri Vaishnava Sabha, called upon people to make use of their lives on good deeds without wasting it. No one must wish bad for others.
District Brahmin Yuva Vedike General Secretary Vikram Iyengar, Organising Secretary Ajay Shastri, Kadakol Jagadish, Prashanth Bharadwaj, Rangan K. Iyenger of Sabha, Venkatesh, Dr. Kamala Raman, Nirmala, Madhurao, Venkatesh, Ranganath and others were present.
Havyaka Sangha and Mysuru Havyaka Parishat had jointly organised a programme at Havyaka Bhavan.
The rituals were held under the guidance of Dr. Suresh Hegde. Havyak Sangha President L.N. Hegade, and others were present on the occasion.
The Upakarma was also held at Sri Yoganarasimhaswamy Temple at Vijayanagar under the guidance of Srinivas.
