Mysuru: The 22nd edition of year-long exhibition of exquisite dolls from across India, began at Ramsons Bombe Mane located in Nazarbad here yesterday.

The dolls exhibition was inaugurated by Scion of erstwhile Thanjavur Maratha Samsthanam Srimant Babaji Rajah Bhonsle & his wife Srimati Gayatri Raje Bhonsle. Mysuru’s

Sri Raghuleela School of Music Founder Dr. Sunitha Chandrakumar unveiled the special display sections.

This year, the traditional wooden dolls of Kinhala, Karnataka, wooden doll collection from Kondapalli, Etikoppaka, Varanasi, Bhubaneshwar, Srikalahasti, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Channapatna are displayed.

The display also includes Mysuru Dasara procession dolls, dolls diorama depicting Navadurgas, Saptamatrikas, Mysuru Maharaja performing various pujas during Navaratri, Mysuru’s Karnataka Ratna Simhasana, Mysore Palace and other Mysuru buildings and many many more Mysuru-specific dolls.

Special doll display sections are Mukura Bimba (Honest Image), Vivaha Parva (Forging of Souls), Karnataka Mukuta Mani (Gallery of Kings) and Navadurga Kosha (Goddesses of Navaratri).

The expo will be open to public between 10 am and 7 pm, the whole year. Entry is free.
