Mysuru: On the occasion of 11th International Day of Yoga-2025, Kamakshi Hospital, second unit at J.P. Nagar in city, successfully conducted ‘Yoga Samagama,’ a special yoga programme this morning.
Dr. Ramesh Shetty, a renowned Yoga guru from Mysore Asthanga Yoga Shala, conducted Yoga session from 7 am, with the doctors, nurses and staff from Kamakshi Hospital first unit at T.K. Layout and the second unit at J.P. Nagar, participating in the session. M. Mahesh Shenoy, Managing Trustee, Kamakshi Hospital, Members of Mysore Association of Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Clinics and Diagnostic Centres (MAHAN), Rotary Main, Rotary West, Rotary J.P. Nagar and children of Ajithanele Trust present.
Ramesh Shetty said, “Yoga is not just a physical exercise, but also the way to keep mental health and improve focus on body, breath and mind, taking one to the peak of spirituality. It blends the mind and body to build a flexible physique.”
Twelve types of Surya Namaskars were performed, along with a rendition of traditional Beejakshara mantra.

Managing Trustee M. Mahesh Shenoy said, “Yoga Day is an opportunity to boost the health of karma yogis at the hospital. Hence the programme was organised for the first time, which will be a regular feature henceforth every year.”
Members of Rotary Club of Mysore, Rotary Club of Mysore J.P. Nagar, Aushad Pharmacy, doctors and nurses and other staff members also took part, said Mahesh Shenoy, acknowledging the role played by many in the success of Yoga Day event.
Nanditha Shenoy, Assistant Admin of Kamakshi Hospital, said: “The International Day of Yoga is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative for maintaining better health to build a healthy society. The life without any ailments can be led through yoga. Ramesh has been teaching yoga to many and Mahesh Shenoy is creating a platform for all including the children and others to learn the better method to keep a good health.”
Kamakshi Hospital General Manager S.V. Prasanna Kumar, Assistant Admin Shruthi Ashok and Rotary Main’s Sameer Kashyap were also present.
