Traffic Police causing traffic jams

June 22, 2025

Sir,

Of late, the stretch between the Ring Road signal and the Railway crossing gate on KRS Road in front of Club Mahindra has become a favourite spot for the Traffic Police to check for traffic violations.

This already busy stretch with slow-moving traffic becomes a nightmare to cross when the Police stop vehicles and make them park haphazardly for checking. It chokes the traffic and gets worse when there is huge traffic at the Ring Road signal.

To add to the chaos, the Railway gates are closed at regular intervals for passing trains. And it is a matter of time before an accident happens with violators taking U-turns to flee from the Police.

While it is a welcome step that the Traffic Police are looking for violators, it would help if they could shift the spot to the Ring Road corner at the traffic signal. This will ease the traffic bottleneck and help with the smooth flow of traffic.
