Mysuru: Metagalli Police have arrested a youth on charges of assaulting a Police Constable on duty.

While the arrested youth is Vikas alias Vicky, the Constable who was assaulted is Ashok Kumar.

On Aug.18, when Head Constable Salim Pasha and Constable Ashok Kumar were on their night beat on Hebbal Main Road, they found Vikas and his friends fighting near Keralapura Military Hotel. Salim Pasha and Ashok Kumar went near the fighting youths and asked them not to create nuisance besides advising them against doing such things in public places.

Irked over their advises, Vikas allegedly scolded them using foul language and assaulted Ashok Kumar. Following the incident, Head Constable Salim Pasha lodged a complaint at Metagalli Police Station.
