Youth arrested under POCSO Act

Mysore/Mysuru: Jayalakshmipuram Police have arrested a youth for raping a minor girl and making her pregnant.

The accused is 21-year-old Ganesh of Kumbarakoppal. 

He (Ganesh) had kidnapped a 17-year-old girl (now 18) a few months ago and had raped her.

Based on the written complaint from the girl, Jayalakshmipuram Police have arrested accused Ganesh under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and interrogated him.

The accused will be produced before a Magistrate today, according to Police.
