Mysore/Mysuru: A debt-ridden youth has committed suicide by hanging self at his residence in Vontikoppal yesterday afternoon. The deceased is Dinesh (26), who was running a photocopy shop at Vontikoppal.

It is learnt that the deceased had taken loans and following COVID-19 lockdown, he was unable to repay the loans. Depressed over mounting loans, Dinesh is said to have taken the extreme step.

V.V. Puram Inspector Arun and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem which was conducted today and the body was handed over to the family members. V.V. Puram Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
